AI Engineer — Engineering Business Intelligence
We are recruiting an AI Engineer to develop intelligent applications for our engineering and security-related business. The role translates LLM, Generative AI, RAG, computer vision and engineering-document understanding into deployable, reusable business tools; it is not an isolated pure-research position.

The role works with engineering, business and commercial colleagues to validate scenarios, develop usable systems and improve them through evidence. It includes development, integration, deployment support and disciplined evaluation.
Responsibilities
What you will work on
- 01
Design, develop and optimize AI applications for engineering and security-related business needs.
- 02
Work on technical-specification parsing, intelligent summaries, knowledge retrieval, engineering Q&A, equipment-image recognition, multilingual material processing and project-data analysis.
- 03
Use Python to develop model services, data-processing pipelines and related backend services.
- 04
Integrate and evaluate third-party and open-source AI models.
- 05
Build engineering knowledge systems using Embedding, Vector Search and RAG.
- 06
Design AI service APIs and integrate them with internal business systems.
- 07
Optimize model quality, response time, stability and usage cost.
- 08
Contribute to architecture, testing, deployment, monitoring and troubleshooting.

Use Docker, cloud services and related tools to support production deployment.

Support testing and technical evaluation of future computing resources associated with local Oman data-centre environments.

Collaborate with engineering, business and commercial teams on scenario validation and iteration.
Base requirements
What you bring

Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning, Software Engineering, Mathematics or a related field; equivalent practical experience may be considered.

Two or more years of practical AI, machine-learning or software-engineering project experience is preferred.

Strong Python skills and familiarity with a mainstream machine-learning or deep-learning framework.

Project experience applying LLM or Generative AI.
- 05
Understanding of RAG, Embedding, Vector Search, Prompt Engineering or AI Agent patterns.

Familiarity with REST APIs, databases and Git.
- 07
Ability to develop, test and deploy independently.
- 08
Ability to communicate in Arabic or English for daily work and read technical material.
Preferred qualifications
Experience that would be valuable

Development experience with OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, Mistral or open-source models.

Familiarity with LangChain, LlamaIndex, Agent SDK or related tools.

Familiarity with FastAPI, Flask, Node.js, PostgreSQL, Redis or vector databases.

Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD or cloud platforms.

Understanding of fine-tuning, LoRA, quantisation or inference optimisation.

Experience with multimodal systems, Computer Vision, OCR or engineering-drawing understanding.

Working communication

Compensation & benefits
Role package
Salary is OMR 1,200–2,000 per month before tax, determined by project experience, technical capability and role level.
